This poster was created for the Fundacja Popularyzacji Muzyki Jazzowej EUROJAZZ to commemorate the 55th anniversary of Krzysztof Komeda's death. Komeda was one of Poland's most influential jazz musicians and a celebrated composer of film scores, best known for his work on Roman Polanski's film, Rosemary's Baby.
The typographic approach was inspired by the interlocking of letterforms spelling KOMEDA and JAZZ, playfully arranged to dance visually across the page, echoing the improvisational rhythm of jazz music.
The final composition conveys a sense of movement, appearing almost kinetic despite its two-dimensional form.
