May & Co.’s persuasive communication has not only helped DSM achieve its annual fundraising goals; they exceeded our expectations during a most difficult economic time.”

formerly the Director of Development,
Dallas Summer Musicals

The impetus for these projects was to support the DSM during major development campaigns, annual fund drives, fundraiser events, and legacy giving efforts. DSM is the 5th largest presenter of performing arts in the U.S.
Dallas Summer Musicals, a non-profit organization, has been a performing arts leader in the North Texas area since 1941. The ever-popular company is efficiently run with only a small gap between ticket sales and operational expenses, unlike many performing arts groups. Nonetheless, the annual development goals require key messaging to help secure additional financial support from corporate sponsors, families, and individuals to create outreach and youth programs for the social good.
May&Co. helped DSM reach and surpass its fundraising goals for over seven seasons by producing insightful messaging centered on the power of the performing arts and their influence on our communities, the workforce, and at-risk youth. Research shows that exposure to the performing arts has tangible results with positive impacts, such as improved standardized testing and fostering innovation in the workplace. Our annual fundraising campaigns highlighted upcoming performances, historical data, and the success of current outreach programs.
